Lucky as we were, when back in May I entered a giveaway on Facebook we won a photoshoot with Nicole Engelmann Photography. For a chance to win I had to tell Nicole why I wanted us to be the winners – I said because I enjoy exploring how different photographers see us as a couple. We’ve helped some with their portfolios the past few years and even though some of the moves, tricks are the same, we’ve never had similar results. I could always see how our relationship had evolved, our bond and love matured.
We agreed on the theme being “Urban Love” and met Nicole near Tower Bridge. Walking through the area she captured us at several landscape marks after which we ended up at one of our favourite locations, St Katherine’s Dock. It’s a perfect spot for not only photography but also for discovering various cousins.
By the time we got there the sun was about to set, so Nicole could take advantage of the fading light resulting in lovely effects. The architecture along the way had also been such a great feature of the shoot – it was not just about our love for each other, but also our love for the city. The colours, the patterns, the shapes, the shadows all contributed to the final beauty of the images – and of course, Nicole did a fabulous job as well, she’s a delight to work with!
