Believe it or not, I have already started this year’s Christmas preparations. In July Lee Publicity invited me to two Christmas collection launch days, one for George at Asda, the other for Very.co.uk.
The first was held on Conduit Street in a beautiful Art Deco styled building. The ground floor was dedicated to George’s new festive fashion collection, while the basement was set up for the home section. From the two sets I liked the fashion line more – the colours and textures made me look forward to winter already.
The second event was held near Covent Garden in the Swiss Church. The place nicely contributed to the setting – tall white walls with skylight and an organ all evoked the vision of a snowy Christmas. Both fashion and home sections were styled within the open space with three Christmas trees and an ice cream bar. The clothes did not really resonate with me (although I liked the pink sequin dress), but I loved the home section very much. Lots of gold, wood and muted colours – a theme I usually use for my festive decoration.
But for now I’m still indulging in what remains from August and hoping for a wonderful Indian summer before a merry Christmas.
