AND FURNITURE BY MEL NELSON & DI WHITE…

This spring sees the introduction of AND Furniture, the debut collection of contemporary metal based furniture, organized by Mel Nelson. It is an honour to be able to have the launch party at the British Consulate in Hong Kong.

Mel Nelson has been an active interior designer for almost 30 years, and this experience gave her the understanding of how furniture can be used as a statement within the space. Aiming for more experimental pieces, while noticing the gap on the British market, she decided to start creating her own collection.

Espresso – smouldering, evocative, embrace

AND Furniture captures the balance between timeless sophistication and unbounded playfulness. All the pieces reflect Mel’s desire to incorporate joy into the process of creating objects that are valued over time.

Started up in London, AND Furniture now strengthens the international exposure of the brand as well as the ties between Hong Kong and London and the rest of Asia. Working in Hong Kong on projects for 17 years the launch event is a natural evolution for Mel and her long-time friend Di White, who represents AND Furniture Asia. They both believe that Hong Kong is a culturally fertile area with a substantial design community that always had close ties with UK.

Boris – witty, sexy, menace

She will introduce her brand new prototypes alongside the recent collection to the Hong Kong audience of collectors and design enthusiasts on 15th March, 2012.
